People Greater TV Accessibility
Under the vision of ‘Caring for All’, we have
been developing
accessibility features for TVs
to make it easier for users to immerse
themselves in the worlds shown on the TV
screen since 2014.
18 accessibility features
are currently available.
This includes “Auto Caption Position” to
ensure that captions do not
interfere with the
content being played and “Sign Language
Guide”
provides explanations of TV menus in
sign language using an avatar.
This year, we newly introduced “Relumino
Mode” that highlights
outlines and improves
contrast and color of the content to support

viewing experiences of people with low
vision.

U.S. EPA’s SMM Award
In 2021, our SolarCell Remote, chargeable not only by solar light but also by indoor lights, received the Sustained Excellence Award, one of the Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Electronics Challenge Awards by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for its resource efficiency.
Sustainability Innovation of the Year Award at the AV News Awards
We won the Sustainability Innovation of the Year award at the AV News Awards 2022 for our application of eco-conscious packaging to all our Signage models and other efforts to carefully design products from a holistic life-cycle perspective in order to minimize environmental impact. AV News is a European audiovisual and IT trade publication.
Energy Winner of the Year
Our Neo QLED 8K TVs became the winner of the Energy Technology Award at the 25th Energy Winners of the Year Awards in 2022 hosted by Consumers Korea and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Environment, and the Korea Energy Agency. At the 24th Energy Winners of the Year Awards in 2021, our SolarCell Remote received the Energy Technology of the Year Award.
Green Product of the Year
In 2022 Neo QLED 8K, the Freestyle beam projector and the high-resolution ViewFinity S8 monitor were selected for the Green Product of the Year award by the non-profit civic group Korea Green Purchasing Network. In particular, the Freestyle's lightweight and portability won it the Popularity Award Selected by Consumers.
